One of the iconic Socceroos of the past decade, Adelaide-born defender Vidmar has experienced almost all that there is to experience in the both the domestic and international forms of the world game. After establishing his career with hometown club Adelaide City in the old National Soccer League, Vidmar went on to claim honours in the top leagues of Belgium, the Netherlands, Scotland and England, most notably a prestigious six-season spell with Scottish giants Rangers that returned two championships and three cups for the veteran man marker. Vidmar’s international career began in 1992 with a home friendly against Czechoslovakia and by mid-2006, Vidmar had moved behind only Paul Wade and Central Coast Mariners Development Manager Alex Tobin as the most capped Socceroo of all time. Most memorably, Vidmar was one of four successful penalty takers for the Socceroos in their dramatic World Cup qualifying win over Uruguay in November 2005.

Very versatile defender, who can play anywhere in the backline. Has predominantly played as a left-sided defender for the Qantas Socceroos and in his club football at Rangers in Scotland. Not only is he a sound defensive player, but also gets down the left flank very well to support in attack. Moved to Cardiff City in England and enjoyed two seasons there before moving back to the Netherlands and his former club NAC Breda.
